Nurses provide care of a patient before, during, and after cardiac catheterization procedure.<strong> <em>Aim:</em></strong> This study aimed to assess nurses' performance regarding care of patients undergoing cardiac catheterization.<strong> <em>Subjects and Method:</em></strong> Adescriptive research designwas conducted.<strong> <em>Setting:</em></strong> At cardiac catheterization unit at Port Said general hospital in Port-Said City and Al-Azhar university hospital in new Damietta city<strong>.</strong><strong> <em>Sample:</em> </strong>A convenient sample of all available nurses <strong>(50)</strong> worked at previous mentioned settings. <strong><em>Tools:</em></strong> Three tools were used. Tool <strong>(I) </strong>Nurses' Knowledge Questionnaire. Tool <strong>(II)</strong> Observational Checklist. Tool <strong>(III)</strong>Nurses' Attitude Scale. <strong><em>Results:</em></strong> The result of present study indicated that more than half of studied nurses had satisfactory level of knowledgeand practice respectively <strong>(52%, 62%)</strong> while, most of them <strong>(68%)</strong> had positive levelof attitude regarding care of patients undergoing cardiac catheterization. <strong><em>Conclusion:</em> </strong>More than half of studied nurses had satisfactory knowledge and practice while most of them had positive attitude regarding care of patients undergoing cardiac catheterization. This study aimed to assess self care practices of patients with lumbar disc prolapse in the post operative period. <strong><em>Setting:</em> </strong>This study conducted <strong>at</strong> neuro-surgery department and outpatient clinic at Azhar university hospital in New Damietta city. <strong>A</strong> <strong><em>convenience sample</em> </strong>of 124 adult patients diagnosed with lumbar disc prolapse were included in the study. <strong><em>Tool</em></strong><em> <strong>of data collection:</strong></em> data collected using structured interview questionnaire, it included four parts: demographic data, medical and surgical history, pain intensity and follow up and Self-care practices of patients with lumbar disc prolapse.<strong> <em>Results: </em></strong>The result of present study showed that 100% of the studied patients felt pain when doing an activity and 72.6 % of them had unsatisfactory self care practicesin the post operative period.<strong> <em> Conclusion</em>:</strong> More than two third of the studied patients need improve self care practices regarding to unsatisfactory self care practices and there wasn't statistically significance relation between demographic data and self care practices.<strong> <em>Recommendations</em>:</strong> Design patient educational materials include proper self care practices of patients with lumbar disc prolapse in the post operative period . The health education program should be tailored every patient's individual needs .

They produce a dramatic change in the patient’s life. Nurses are the key persons in directing successful rehabilitation effort to assure patients attain functional capabilities, avoid further disabilities, and prevent complications. <strong><em>Aim:</em></strong>to assess nurses' knowledge regardingopen wound care in the surgical unit, evaluate the effect of a wound care protocol on nurses' knowledge in the surgical unit, and assess patients' wound healing pre- and post-applying wound care protocol in surgical units at Mansoura University and emergency hospitals<strong>. <em>Subject and methods</em></strong><em>:</em> A descriptive exploratory research study were carried out. <strong><em>Study sample</em></strong><em>:</em>includes two groups first group<strong>, consisted</strong> of <strong>55</strong>nurses from the two hospitals, second group consist 53 adult patients with openwounds, <strong>Data</strong><strong> collection</strong> was accomplished utilizing three tools; Astructured interview for the nurses, wound care observational checklist,Bates-Jensen, Data was collected from both nurses and patients three times; one time before implementing the wound care protocol, and a second time after its implementationthiredthird time after 12 weeks follow up. <strong>The result of this study</strong> revealed a statistically significant improvement in nurses' knowledge after implementing wound care protocol (P-value = 0.014 and 0.000 respectively). Additionally, wound degeneration decreased in post-protocol implementation and during follow-up. The wound regeneration significantly improved (P-value = 0.000) after implementing the wound care protocol. <strong>Conclusion</strong>: the study concluded the presence of an improvement in nurses'knowledge after implementing the wound care protocol. Also, the wound healing improved significantly. <strong>Recommendations</strong>: nurses’ knowledge about surgical wound care and infection control in general needs to be updated, through in-service training programs. The hospital should have policies regarding infection control measures, to be reviewed periodically.

The aim of the present</strong> study was to evaluate the impact of an educational program on knowledge, practice, and self-efficacy of patients with stable chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. <strong>Research Design </strong>Quasi- experimental research design was utilized in this study. <strong>Subject& Methods, </strong>the sample was consisted of all available patients with stable COPD during the time of data collection. <strong>Two </strong><strong>tools were used to collect data</strong><strong>:</strong> Structured interview sheet which consisted ofsocio-demographic characteristics, and medical history<strong>. and;</strong> Self-Efficacy Scale for Patients with COPD<strong>. The result </strong>of the study concluded that there was no statistically significant difference between pre and post & pre and follow up scores, but there was a highly statistically significant difference between pre and post program all self-efficacy factors except with weather ∕environment, while there was no statistically significant difference between pre and follow up program in all self-efficacy factors except in negative affect factor.<strong> Conclusion,</strong> the study concluded that after implementation of the educational program, remarkable improvements were occurred in knowledge, practice, and self-efficacy sub scores.<strong> Recommendation, </strong>the study recommended continuous monitoring and evaluation of self-efficacy for patients, to enhance disease management through establishing a rehabilitation program for patient, and to improve their self-efficacy. Promotion and enhancement of the self-care modalities to the patient; a strict written instruction with pictures about disease process, allowed foods , rest and physical activities and follow up should be continued after termination of educational program.

Concerning total Self Efficacy there was no statistically significant difference between pre and post & pre and follow up scores, but there was a highly statistically significant difference between pre and post program regarding all self-efficacy issues except with weather ∕environment, while there was no statistically significant difference between pre and follow up program in all self-efficacy issues except in negative affect issues. <strong>The study concluded</strong> that after implementation of the educational program, remarkable improvements were occurred in knowledge, practice, and self-efficacy sub scores.<strong> The study recommended</strong> Continuous monitoring and evaluation of self-efficacy for patients to enhance disease management through establishing a rehabilitation program for patient to improve their self-efficacy. Setting: This study was conducted at three chemotherapeutic units in oncology Institution in Damietta, Port Said general hospital and EL Tadamon hospital. <strong><em>Sample:</em></strong> A Purposive sample of 48 nurses, oncology Institution in Damietta (N=41), Port-said hospitals (N=7) in period of 6 months. <strong><em>Data collection</em></strong>: Two tools were used for data collection: A Structured self-administered questionnaire and Nurses' performanceobservational checklist. <strong><em>Results:</em></strong>Only 57.9% of the studied nurses had unsatisfactory level of general knowledge, while 52.3% of them had satisfactory level of practice, with regards to the adverse health effect the results shown that 54.8%, 51.6%, 41.9%, 38.7% and 35.5% s inflammation of the skin, fatigue, loss of weight, ulcers in the mouth and hair loss, headache, loss of appetite, change in nail color and changes in menstrual cycle respectively. <strong><em>Conclusion:</em></strong> There are statically significant relation between nurses' level of performance and the occupational health hazards. <strong><em>Recommendations:</em></strong>periodiceducational and training programs to improve nurses'performance regarding use of chemotherapy and protection from its health hazardsare needed.

Data were obtained through an interview with the studied caregivers using three tools: structured interview questionnaire, caregiver strain questionnaire-short form and brief cope scale. <strong><em>Results:</em></strong> Revealed that 44.4% of the studied caregivers had unsatisfactory total knowledge regarding autism, 77.8% of the studied caregivers' total strains mean scores were high and the 97.2% of the studied caregivers had high total coping mean scores.<strong><em>Conclusion</em></strong><strong>:</strong> The studied caregivers had unsatisfactory total knowledge mean score (regarding autism, strains and coping), had high total strains mean scores and had high total coping mean scores. <strong><em>Recommendation:</em></strong> Emphasize the importance of carrying out educational programs to improve knowledge of autistic children's care givers regarding their autistic children's needs and care. Also regular assessment and monitoring of the studied family care givers' strains and coping is recommended.

The most common methods used were hormonal method (56.5%). The IUD was used by 28.3%. The majority of the women choose the method according to their desire and with their husband agreement. More than one third of them received contraceptive information from friends and relatives. Only 34.7% of the sample suffered from side-effects and complications associated with the use of the contraceptive method. Method failure, cognitive barriers as well as the desire for conception were the most common reasons for discontinuation of contraceptives.<strong> <em>Conclusion</em></strong><em>:</em> More than half of the sample used hormonal contraceptives, over than one fourth used IUCD and few women used barriers. Significant relation was found between socioeconomic factors, biological, menstrual factors and utilization of contraceptive methods .<strong><em>Recommendations</em></strong><em>:</em> The nurse midwife should inform the women about the side effects of the method used what to do if they experience side effects, and told about other available family planning methods as well as clear up their misconceptions.

As inappropriate use of conflict resolution skills leads to degeneration of communication and poor working relationships particularly between nurse leader and their staff nurses. <strong><em>Aim:</em></strong>the current study aimed todetermine the relationship between conflict management strategies used by head nurses, and the quality of vertical dyad linkage at Port Said hospitals. <strong><em>Subjects and Methods</em>: </strong>A descriptive correlational design was applied in this study on 31 head nurses and 203 staff nurses working in Port Said General Hospital and Port Said Health Insurance Hospitals, using two tools; the first was Thomas-Kilmann conflict mode instrument to assess head nurses' preferred conflict resolution strategies, and the second was vertical dyad linkage scale from staff nurses point of view<strong><em>. Results:</em></strong> The results of the present study showed more than two-thirds of head nurses (67.7%) used accommodating strategy as a primary method to resolve conflict, followed by compromising strategy used by 51.6% by them to resolve conflict and less than two third (64%) of staff nurses had a neutral relation with their head nurses. <strong>Conclusion:</strong> Based on the results of the present study, it can be concluded that, there was no statistically significance relation between conflict management strategies used by head nurses, and the quality of vertical dyad linkage in Port-Said hospitals. It was recommended that head nurses should use conflict management styles depending on the situation. Whereas, the lowest available element is the benefits among teaching staff, employees and students<strong>.<em>Conclusion</em>:</strong> availability of internal marketing elements at the faculty is moderately fulfilled. Tools of data collection: The data were collected by using two tools; Quality of nursing work life scale (QNWL) and Occupational stress scale. <strong><em>Results</em>:</strong> Revealed that 51.8% of head nurses had high QWL and the highest percent of them had high quality of work life for the work context. Also, it was observed that 77.6% of head nurses had low stress level and 41.2% of them had high stress level for physician related stressors. <strong><em>Conclusion:</em></strong>The findings pointed to, that there was a negative a statistically significant correlation between quality of work life and occupational stress among head nurses. <strong><em>Recommendations:</em></strong> Therefore, the findings pointed for upgrading nurses' QWL through development of new strategies and systems to enhance work environment. This research has been applied in Port Said University. All nursing students at third and fourth academic year were included.
