Therefore the study <strong>aimed</strong> to assess the challenges of nursing students regarding their expectations and satisfaction before and after entering delivery room. <strong>Method:</strong> An exploratory descriptive study <strong>design</strong> was used <strong>Sample: A </strong>purposive sample<strong>, </strong>all technical institute nursing students (91)who were attending the delivery unit during studying maternity and neonatal nursing course at study year 2018-2019,<strong>Setting:</strong> in General Damietta hospital. <strong>Tools: two tools,</strong> a self-administered questionnaire of three parts was developed by the researchers, includes questions about the students’ expectations, students' knowledge about labor and satisfaction, and a modified scale was also used.<strong> Results: </strong>Regarding students' expectations more than two third of students expected to be welcomed from mothers, and around half of students expected that nurses following the principle of infection control, nurses instructed women regarding bearing down and less than two-thirds of them were satisfied with the practical training and a sense of belonging and identity. <strong>Conclusion: </strong>Nursing students are faced with many challenges in the clinical learning, there were highly statically significant differences found between before and after entrance for many of their expectations, and some ’expectations were achieved. More than half of the studied nurses (54.1%) were victims of workplace bullying, two third of nurses (60.6%) had bullied by patients and patient relatives and more than one third (33.3%) bullied by supervisor and manager. <strong><em>Conclusion:</em></strong> It was concluded from this study, more than half of nurses were victims of workplace bullying. Subjects:</strong> A sample of 124 students from the four academic years at faculty of Nursing, Port Said University, were involved<strong>. Tools: </strong>Three tools were used tool I. Internet use assessment sheet, tool II the Internet Addiction Test (IAT) to assess internet addiction. Tool III a measure of severity of physical and psychological symptoms as a result of using the internet scale. <strong>Results</strong>. The study results showed that headache represented a percent score of 60.48 ± 26. 44, while sleep problems represented percent score of 54.19 ± 27.20. The psychological problems percent score 43.68 ± 29.19. Furthermore, the moderate using the internet was 39.5% among the studied sample. <strong>Conclusion: </strong>The present study proved that headache, sleep problems and psychological symptoms (fear - depression -anxiety) respectively were the highest sever symptoms resulted from using the internet. There is significant relation between total scores of psychological symptoms, internet using scale and time of using internet<strong>. Data collection tools incorporated Colquitt's Organizational Justice Scale and Maslach Burnout Inventory and content validated by a panel of specialists. <strong><em>Results</em></strong>: The study results revealed that around half of nurses had a moderate degree of overall organizational justice and more than one third of nurses had moderate levels of emotional exhaustion. Additionally, less than three quarters of nurses had low levels of depersonalization. Likewise, overall organizational justice and it's all dimensions has a statistical significant negative correlation with total job burnout. <strong><em>Conclusion and recommendations</em></strong>: Nurses' perceived moderate degree of organizational justice, interactional justice scored the highest percentage. Whereas, a moderate level of burnout. Negative significant correlation between organizational justice and job burnout. However, negative significant correlations between all organizational justice and its dimensions with emotional exhaustion, depersonalization and total job burnout. Direct-acting antivirals have demonstrated high efficacy to achieve sustained virological response in chronic hepatitis C patients. <strong>Aim: </strong>This study aimed to assess effect of direct acting antiviral treatment on daily living activities for patients with hepatitis C virus. <strong>Setting: </strong>This study conducted at El-Mataria Daqahlia Health insurance hospital in El-Mataria city, Daqahlia and EL-Tadamon Hospital in Port –Said city.<strong> A</strong> <strong>descriptive</strong> sample of 100 male and female adult patients were included in the study. <strong>Tools</strong> <strong>of data collection</strong>: Three tools were used to collect study data. First tool is a questionnaire used to assess patient's demographic data, medical and surgical history, the second tool is care dependency scale used to assess level of patient dependency and third tool was daily living scale to assess daily living activities of the study patients. <strong>Results:</strong> the study results revealed that the majority of sample 73%were dependent as an effect of treatment mostly in activities which need more effort or more cognitive abilities as housekeeping and learning ability while 27% were independent independent mainly in personal activities as continence, getting dressed and undressed. <strong>Conclusion</strong>. The majority of the sample were nearly independent in personal ADL and physical activities, while about one fourth one- fourth were dependent in other activities which need more effort or more cognitive. <strong>Recommendations:</strong> Assessment of patient physical, psychological, social and spiritual health behaviors should be a part of routine patient's health assessment. A total of 40 nurses were recruited in the study and attended the educational program. A total of 120 women were recruited to explore their Satisfaction regarding gynecological examination care. <strong>Three tools</strong> were utilized for data collection first, structured interviewing questionnaire, observational checklist, and women's’ satisfaction assessment tool. <strong>The Results</strong> revealed that: the nurses mean age was 30.7 ± 3.10 . post-intervention most of maternity nurses 87.5% had correct knowledge about gynecological examinations, 85% of them had satisfactory care about gynecological examinations. Almost all studied women 95% were satisfied with nursing care post-intervention<strong> Conclusion:</strong> The implemented educational guideline had a positive effect as it improves the nurses' knowledge and practice about gynecological examinations which inturn women were satisfied regarding care provided during gynecological examination. <strong>Recommendations</strong>: A training guideline regarding gynecological examination must be recommended for all nurses working at obstetric and gynecological units to improve the quality of care given to women. Identifying stressors, self-efficacy and coping strategies used by patients undergoing hemodialysis may help nurses and health care providers to gain a clearer understanding of the condition of these patients and thus, institute effective care planning. <strong>Aim</strong>: Assess relation between stressors, coping strategies and self-efficacy among patients undergoing hemodialysis. <strong>Subjects and method:</strong> <strong>Design: </strong>A descriptive correlational research design was used. <strong>Subjects:</strong> This study implemented among 100 hemodialysis patients.<strong> Setting:</strong> The study was carried out in hemodialysis unit at El-Salam Hospital in Port-Said city, Egypt. <strong>Tools:</strong> Three tools were utilized to collect data for this study including; Hemodialysis Stressor Scale, Self-Efficacy for Managing Chronic Disease6-itemScale and Coping Strategies Scale<strong>. Results:</strong> Most prominent increase in percent score among all stressors associated with chronic hemodialysis treatment was related to social life. Patients were adaptive with stressors by the use of affective-oriented coping strategies more than problem-oriented coping strategies, nearly two thirds of the studied patients had low level of self-efficacy. <strong>Conclusion &Recommendations:</strong> There were statistically significant negative correlations between total scores of coping strategies, self-efficacy and stressors among the studied patients. While, there was a statistically significant positive correlation between total scores of coping strategies and self-efficacy. So, Continuous educational programs should be held by health professionals for patients about proper coping methods, problem solving strategies and stress management techniques to alleviate stressors associated with chronic hemodialysis treatment and maintain compliance to treatment regimen. Purposive sampling was be used. Two tools used to gather the required data consisted of; <strong>Tool (1)</strong> Astructured self administer questionnaire<strong> Tool (2)</strong> burden scale.<em> <strong>Results:</strong></em> The study revealed that(20.0 %) of the studied family caregivers had no burden, followed by (32.2 %) of them had mild burden while (41.7 %) of them had moderate burden, and finally (6.1 %) of the studied family caregivers had sever burden.<strong><em> Conclusion:</em></strong> It can be concluded that about tow fifth of the studied family caregivers had moderate level of burden. <strong><em>Recommendations:</em></strong> Designing and training program to caregivers regarding coping and rehabilitation for their roles to their mentally retarded children. The incidence of deep vein thrombosis in neurological ICU presumed to be higher reporting an incidence of 18 to 50%. A nursing protocol that improves nurses’ use of preventive measures for deep vein thrombosis is paramount. <strong>Aim: </strong>This study aimed to investigate the effect of nursing care protocol on deep vein thrombosis occurrence among critically neurological patients.<strong>Subjects and Method:</strong> <strong>Design:</strong> A quasi-experimental research design was used.<strong>Setting:</strong> study conducted at neurosurgery intensive care unit and neurological department in Mansoura University Hospital<strong>Subjects:</strong>a purposive sample of 60 patients (30 protocol patients group and 30 control group) participated in the study.. Routine care was applied to the control group while the protocol group received deep vein thrombosis care according to the protocol. <strong>Tools:</strong> data were collected using two tools; DVT Assessment Status Tool and DVT Incidence Monitoring Tool.<strong> Result</strong>s: 26% of studied patients in the control group developed DVT compared with 3% in the protocol group. A significant difference existed between the two groups after implementing the nursing protocol concerning exercise, elastic stock, and pneumatic compression (P<0.05). <strong>Conclusion and recommendations:</strong> The proposed protocol for nursing care is substantially successful in reducing DVT among critically neurological patients. Community Health Nursing, faculty of nursing port-said UniversityJournal Article20201215<strong><em>Background:</em></strong> Hypertension is a chronic disease affecting millions and causing millions of complications every year worldwide. People living with hypertension need to make several lifestyle adjustments, not only for treating hypertension but also for the prevention of other related chronic diseases. <strong><em>Aim</em></strong><em>:</em> Evaluate the effect of evidence-based lifestyle guidelines on self-efficacy among hypertension patients in Port Said City. <strong><em>Subjects and method</em>: </strong> A quasi-experimental design was utilized for conducting this study. <strong><em>Setting:</em></strong> The study was carried out at primary health care centers located in Port Said City. <strong>subjects:</strong> A purposive sample of 341 patients with hypertension recruited from randomly chosen six primary health care centers.<strong><em> Tools</em>:</strong> Data was collected using three tools,<strong> <em>Tool I</em>: </strong>Self-Administered Structured Questionnaire divided into three parts namely: demographic data, patient' medical history, and knowledge assessment sheet, <strong><em>Tool II:</em></strong> Hypertension self-care activities scale and <strong><em>Tool III:</em></strong> Self-efficacy scale. <strong><em>Results</em></strong><em>: </em>(4.4%) of the study group had satisfactory knowledge in the pre implementation phase while after implementation changed to (94.4%) of them had satisfactory knowledge. Nearly (4.4 %) of them had an adequate level of self-care activity while after implementation become (85.9%). About (2.6%) only had an adequate level of self-efficacy while after implementation become (97.9%). <strong><em>Conclusion:</em></strong> most of studied hypertensive patients had unsatisfactory knowledge, non-adherence to self-care activities and low self-efficacy toward their disease before implementation of evidence-based lifestyle guidelines, while the majority had satisfactory knowledge, adherence to self-care activities and high self-efficacy after implementation of guidelines with highly statistically significant difference.<strong> <em>Recommendation:</em> </strong>Apply evidence-based lifestyle guidelinesmore and more to cover all hypertensive patients to help them understanding the nature of their chronic disease and trying to cope without complications.<br /> <strong><em> </em></strong>https://pssjn.journals.ekb.eg/article_177994_403bba3f9ac9552e9e3ed7f5c0f76a52.pdfPort Said University; Faculty of NursingPort Said Scientific Journal of Nursing2356-86588120210630Effectiveness of internship program as perceived by intern nurses and its relation to their professional role at technical nursing institutes25527417800310.21608/pssjn.2021.71610.1102ENHanan El ShahatAbdel Wahab Ghazyadministration nursing,faculty of nursing,portsaed universityRashaIbrahem El-sayedAssistant Professor of Nursing AdministrationWalied MohamedIbrahiem KherebaAssistant Professor of Vascular SurgeryNoura Al GharibEl DiastyLecturer of Nursing AdministrationJournal Article20210408<strong>Background:</strong> Nursing internship program is a system of instruction and experience coordinated within an academic setting and leading to the acquisition of the knowledge, skills, and attributes essential to the practice of professional nursing. <strong> Aim:</strong> examine the relationship between the effectiveness of the internship program (established via intern nurse's points of view) and intern nurse's professional role at the technical institutes of nursing. <strong>Subjects and Method: Design: </strong>A descriptive research design was carried out. <strong>Setting:</strong> The study was carried out at technical nursing institutes at Damietta and associated hospitals at Damietta governorate . <strong>Subjects:</strong> All nurses 147 nurse interns from the aforementioned setting who enrolled in the internship program. <strong>Tools:</strong> Tool I: A structured questionnaire including Part 1: intern nurse personal data. Aim: This study aim to determine effect of maltreatment on selected aspects of intelligence among school-age children. Subjects and Method: A descriptive correlation research design was utilized to conduct the current study. Stratified cluster random sampling of 12 primary schools in Port Said City at six districts. Total of 422 students aging nine to twelve years old. Data collection tools: Tool I: structured Interview for socio-demographic data. Tool II: abuse and neglect scale. Tool III: sexual abuse scale. Tool IV: linguistic intelligence scale. Tool V: social intelligence scale. Tool VIP: emotional intelligence scale. Results: The most common maltreatment among the studied students were neglect, 27 %, and physical abuse, 24.2%, followed by emotional abuse,18.5%, and only, 0.2%, were exposed to sexual abuse. The majority of studied students had linguistic and emotional intelligence. It is individual behaviors, which are helpfulness, well-meaning and cooperation among faculty members and avoid undesirable acts to improve the skills of academic staff. <strong>Aim</strong> Identify the relationship of organizational justice, trust, and identification with academic staff` citizenship behavior. <strong>Design</strong>: Descriptive correlation was utilized. <strong>Setting</strong>: Faculty of nursing- Mansoura University. <strong>Subjects</strong>: all nursing academic staff at nursing faculty during the academic year 2017-2018 and not have managerial position (160). <strong>Tools: </strong>Four tools were used: organizational justice scale, organizational trust scale, Organizational Identification Questionnaire and Organizational Citizenship Behavior Questionnaire. <strong>Result:</strong> High percent 43.8%, 61.9% & 80% of academic staff had high level of organizational trust, identification and citizenship behavior respectively, while (47.5%) of them had moderate level of organizational justice. Academic staff had high level of organizational citizenship behavior were high feeling of justice, trust and identification. Statistically significant correlations were found between organizational citizenship behavior with organizational justice, trust and identification. <strong>Conclusion: O</strong>rganizational justice, trust and identification are significant for academic staff citizenship behaviors.
